Airshow Volkel (NL)
On June 18th we finally were able to start the airshow saison for the Austrian Tigersquadron. This time we flew to Volkel, The Netherlands which is situated approximately 50 km east of Eidhoven.

After our touchdown in Volkel we were welcomed by a German Groundcrew who had been requested by the airshow responsibles just to serve our needs! After a short introduction during the accreditation our display pilot was allowed to do his rehearsal. This training was a little bit unusual due to the fact that our pilots are used to a montainous terrain.

Overall 220.000 spectators were able to see the Türkisch Stars, Patrouille Aquila, Patrouille de France, Royal Jordanien Falcons and Red Arrows. Solo-displays were shown from for instance from a F16, F18, Mig 29, Vulcan and of course the famous Saab J 105 OE!

The Avro Vulcan has a wing area of 368 m² !
On Sunday we were able to do a sightseeing tour in Eindhoven and typical dutch food.

On Monday we returned back to Austria – the Airpower 2009 in Zeltweg will be the next airshow!
